I wouldn't have been able to catch this fish without the nice presentation
"turn-over" of your leaders. I landed the fly right in front of a rock eddy at
65 feet, precisely 2 feet from the river bank and got a nice WHAM!

I'm completely sold on the leaders. I was very
skeptical, thinking, there is no way a leader they can see will do as well as a
mono leader. What I've found is: 1) the fish don't seem to mind at all,
especially since I can now use even longer tippets and still get good
presentation, and 2) the ability to turn over heavier, bigger, or more wind
resistant flies is well worth it on their merit. If you need a reference, just
point them my way. |

My son was trying out a furled leader for the first time. After a few casts, he
recognized the castability of this style. On the second day of fishing, things
were a bit slow. My rule has always been seeing nothing, switch to an
attractor, and give them something to look at. A half hour later, my son
caught his biggest trout ever. This hog measured in at 23.5in!! He's hooked
on your furled leaders now!! |

I knew this would happen. My son and i were out at a local
pond he was learning to fly cast and was trying to clear a snarl in his
reel. The carp picked up his yellow wooly bugger just as he cleared the
snarl. he emailed this pic and insisted that i put it up on my web site as
this was his first fish on a fly rod and he was using one of my leaders.
